Sometimes, you have to splurge.
Like when your in-laws insist on taking you to a fancy steak place for your birthday.
I mean, who’s going to argue about that?
The splurge was steaks and potatoes and rose petals on the table – and wine and mushrooms and flaming desserts. Yum! But once a year is quite enough.
That dinner looks good enough to eat! ‘Reminds me of one I had in Paris around 40 years ago, complements of a friend on a generous expense account. The whole spread, including a VERY expensive wine, must have run to a number of hundreds of dollars, calculated in British pounds (via francs). And worth every penny (of his company’s money!!)
What a great story. I love to hear “best dinner out” stories. And Paris restaurant stories. You should do a memoir post about that dinner! Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
