Good Friday Lilies

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they toil not, neither do they spin.

If Easter lilies are white, can these red lilies be Good Friday lilies?

I think they can.

Each lily is unique.
Each lily is unique.

I was captivated by this stand of lilies at a local park, and how each of them is unique.

Each lily has its own distinct personality.

And yet, together, they form a community. A beautiful, striking, fragrant community.

The lilies moved as one with the wind.

Lilies of the field; not toiling or spinning, just bringing peace, inspiration and hope with their beauty.

Just musing about lilies, people and redemption on this Good Friday. Happy Easter from Glover Gardens.

  • This is truly lovely – the flowers and the thoughts. I really LOVE it. The red lilies are so truly magnificent and perhaps have a deeper meaning too. I loved your writing. It is the way I like to think of Easter. It is quiet and contemplative and gives me a lot of good things to remember and think about. Thank you so kindly for this.

    • Anne, thank you so much for the feedback. I woke up this morning thinking about this post, wondering, “did I really say anything?” You made me feel like I did. I guess sometimes, you can say a lot with just a little, but I wasn’t sure I had achieved that until your comment.

      Happy Easter, from one contemplative person to another.

Tell me your thoughts...
