i catch her in the
mirror sometimes: star-bright girl
who lives inside me
I saw myself in the mirror last night, and just for a moment, it was my girl-child face. I was happy, not looking in the mirror on purpose, and just for a moment, in a sideways glance, there was sparkly, all-tomorrows-to-come Kim.
A deep understanding settled into me that no matter my age or circumstances, that girl is always there. Inside. To be embraced and relied upon. Until my tomorrows are no more.
