the haiku that wrote itself under the apricot-indigo sky

cicadas’ opus
air conditioner’s low hum
summer lullabies

This haiku wrote itself as I sat outside at dusk last night and realized that sounds which by themselves are annoying create a soothing background when you hear them together. Cicadas and air conditioners are the soundtrack of warm summer evenings as the apricot-indigo sky darkens on another day.

Can you hear the cicadas screech and the A/C drone (in a good way)?
