The Texas Jazz Orchestra performs March 30 at Dosey Doe The Big Barn in The Woodlands! Their concert there last October was one of the most fun musical experiences we've had in years. How often do you get to hear a full big band in which every player is at the top of their game, and every tune is a tour de force? The best part: the musicians are having a blast - you can see it on their faces. (Peep the second pic to see my son cracking up on keyboard.) Needless to say, I'll be there in the front row tomorrow night. What a great night at Doc's Jazz last Wednesday! Jazz / sax phenom Chad Lefkowitz-Brown headlined a world-class quarter with Thomas Wenglinski on keys, Corey Dozier on bass and Gavin Moolchan on drums. Wow! You might think I'm biased b/c well, I'm the Mom of the guy at the piano, but hey, I've seen enough live jazz in my life to be a great judge of 'what good sounds like'. Listen to the recording and judge for yourself! It's the melody, a sax solo, and a piano solo.
