This blog is called Glover Gardens but I meander through many other topics – that’s the reason for the ‘multifaceted’ in the tag line.
But today, it’s all about the garden—the flower garden—and specifically, my overachieving amaryllis. I love it so much.
The Grill-Meister stays in touch with me when I travel by sending me pics of the plants. I love him so much, too. 😊 Here’s one he sent to me on April 4 of this year when I was in Rio de Janeiro.

Another amaryllis in a different pot was blooming then, too, and was included in another text.

I couldn’t wait to get home to greet these beauties! I honored them with a photo shoot as soon as I returned.

The flowers lasted for 3-4 weeks, which is one of the great things about amaryllis, in addition to the vibrant color, giant blooms and glossy green leaves. It’s a spring garden powerhouse of a flower.
I love my amaryllis even when they’re not blooming, and usually give them a companion in the pot to keep them company, something with differently-shaped, sized and colored leaves, and sometimes something that also blooms. But they’re definitely more enchanting when they are strutting their stuff, big red sirens of seductive color.
And this spring, one of my potted amaryllis is blooming a second time, just before spring gives way to summer. This is abnormal behavior for these beauties. I noticed the buds coming up a couple of weeks ago, just before another trip (Colorado), but this time, I was home when the blooms opened up to greet the world. I started their photo shoot 4 days ago.

That’s all for today – just flowers.
What flowers are enchanting you right now?

Great garden. Compliments… 👏🏻
Thank you very much! I don’t spend much time on it, but it gives back as though it’s my highest priority.
👍🏻
What a glorious colourful garden.
Thank you so much! I choose plants that don’t need to be babied, but am relatively nice to them, and they just keep delivering their loveliness.
