Hyde Park is always worth a stop. Even on a short trip, I try to make time to walk through its winding paths—past flowerbeds, beside the Serpentine, just soaking in the calmness, the riot of color and the palpable happiness of people enjoying the park.
During a quick weekend in London this past April where I focused on food, gardens, museums, and photography, Hyde Park was again on my agenda. This post is mostly pictures: spring flowers and afternoon sunshine that bathed the flora and fauna in a golden glow.

The final photo is my favorite—taken just as I was leaving the park. I managed to catch three London icons in one frame: a red tourist bus, a red phone box, and a black cab, all with flowers in the foreground. A lucky little snapshot of the city life that pulses and vibrates just outside the gates of this magnificent and beloved park.

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you might recognize a few past Hyde Park moments:
- London’s Jekyll and Hyde Park – a quiet afternoon at the Serpentine
- If Flowers Had Royalty, I Think They Would Be Irises – a floral love letter, including Hyde Park highlights
- Travel Serendipity: I Touched a Picasso – a walk through Hyde Park led me somewhere I never expected
In a city that moves fast, Hyde Park reminds you to walk slowly, to literally stop and smell the flowers.
That’s what I did, and that’s what I’ll continue to do.
