There’s a lot of press about chicken wings being THE Super Bowl food, with the estimate from 2024’s consumption on that single day suggesting that all of the chicken wings consumed would reach ⅔ of the way to the moon, end to end. That’s a LOT of chicken wings! But today I’m here to talk about nachos.

Nothing says “game day” like cheesy, hand-held deliciousness that might just steal the spotlight from the halftime show. They should be on the list of popular Super Bowl foods, because they check all the boxes:
- Easy and quick
- Handheld
- Versatile – lotsa toppings or minimal nachos
- Can be targeted to carnivores or herbivores
- Good hot and cold
- Super-flavorful and “all the feels”: crunchy, cheesy, spicy, tangy, creamy, addictive!
Let’s face it: nachos are happy-making food. I took a little time a few months ago to create a Basics of Nachos “mini-course”, that outlines how one can approach nachos, starting with the minimalist approach and then exploring the various options. I’m re-posting today ahead of all of those Google searches for Super Bowl food. My friends, if nachos are in your future, you MUST click this and read all about how you can make a nachos touchdown. Trust me, the ins and outs and how-tos are ALL covered.
There probably won’t be any leftovers when you make your winning nachos, but if there are, here’s what you can do with them.
What’s on your Super Bowl menu? And, if you’re not American, what would you have for your big sports event, perhaps the World Cup?
