Lillian is hosting Quadrille Monday at the dVerse Poets Pub tonight and invites us to write a quadrille (44-word poem) using the word ‘indigo’. This color is all rainbows and sunsets for me, so here goes.
evening fades indigo (evening knows when to go)
evening fades indigo
uniquest
of rainbow hues
knowing when to go
sleight-of-handing
pinks into blues
sunset simpatico
seductively
flaunting its views
eye-candy vertigo
inspirational
love poems induced
fading to afterglow
tranquility
colors subdued
evening fades indigo
(evening knows when to go)
To illustrate “evening fades indigo”, here are a few pics from Gumbo Cove or out and about in Bay St. Louis, MS.

I guess I’ve been inspired by “indigo skies” before…

What does indigo mean to you?

Love your poem.
Thank you!
Oh yes, the sunset is what is truly indigo.
Yes! They complement or even complete each other, don’t they?
I love the circularity of your quadrille, Kim, and that wonderful phrase ‘sleight-of-handing pinks into blues’.
Thank you so much, Kim!
You’re most welcome !
Beautifully penned you have captured the changing hues. The photos are amazing.
Thank you so much! I think sunsets pretty much write themselves, at least for me. I’m just the vessel.
Lovely verse and presentation…superb last line..
Thank you, Ain! I wasn’t going to participate because of a long commute home and a bit of a block, but thinking of rhymes for indigo inspired me. I actually looked at all of the poems that had been published by the time I was able to write, about 8 p.m. to make sure no one else had picked up that rhyme. It means a lot that it resonated with a few readers. 😊
The artistry of both words and (many many) images – thank you!
I appreciate your comments… I always see images in words, and words in images.
Not only does indigo know where to go ~~~ so do you!!! A nice write.
Thank you!
The poem and the photos you took are indigo-delicious, Kim!
What a term! I’m keeping that one.
Ohhhh, that last line, Kim! A perfect ending to the day.
Awww, thank you!
I felt very light when reading this❤️
What an awesome thing to say. That’s kind of the way sunsets make us feel, isn’t it?
eye-candy, indeed! yummy verse and pictures. <3
Thank you!
I really enjoyed the subtle yet rhythmical rhyming, the beautiful photographs and this image especially : “sleight-of-handing
pinks into blues”
Thank you so much! I’m glad it spoke to you, visually and verbally.
Kim, the way you formatted your Q worked very well. I instinctively read down the middle lines in each one to see what it said. Those sunsets you see there are STUNNING!
gorgeous photos to accompany stellar writing!
