none of the bees
would pose for me
and barely would the butterfly
i guess they didn’t
understand my need
and i'm sure they didn't try
they’re earnestly
doing what they do
just wringing the most from spring
bees and flowers
reminded me
the healing power nature brings
Update – January 30, 2025: sharing this poem from the COVID era on the dVerse Poets Pub Open Link Night. If you’re a poet or poetry-lover, give it a look!

I went to a botanical garden at lunch today, Dear Readers. It was a tonic in these troubled times.

My camera hasn’t been out for a walk in a while, and together we enjoyed the break from the coronavirus news.

Stay home, stay safe, stay sane and stay in touch.

Lovely, thanks, Kim!
Gorgeous flowers and bees! Love the monarch!
Thank you very much – I really like your poetry and paintings, too.
:>)
Kim, your garden of photos makes my night. I really needed a dose of nature <3
Happy to provide it! I’m trigger-happy with the camera and fascinated by bees, birds, butterflies, bridges and flowers, and it’s nice to have them to support my blogging and poetry hobbies.
🙂
Love your pictures, and yes, why would they really care about us?
Especially when we (humankind) don’t always do the best job of caring for them!
Nature is indeed healing. Thank you for sharing the photos and poem.
Yes, nature is a tonic. Thanks for reading!
How delightful and I love the see them again in spring. Thanks for sharing the photos of the flowers and the bees.
Beautiful flowers and poetry.
Your photos and your poem are wonderful! Bees and butterflies ignore me, too.
I wonder what THAT’S about? I guess the feelings aren’t mutual; they are probs mad b/c we’re messing up their environment.
Very nice! The poem and the photos are delightful.
Thank you!
How lovely, Kim. Nature does have a healing power, and if it were, if the bees were mindful of our needs and desires, that would perhaps be lost. You have me rooting for them “earnestly/doing what they do.”
Awww, thank you! They do indeed, “do what they do”
Are these your photos, Kim? They are amazing, as is your whimsical poem. My favorite line: “. . .doing what they do just wringing the most from spring.”
Yes, thank you, Judy! I’m still learning photography skills but practicing out in nature is a joy. And I’d definitely like to wring the most from spring this year, with and without the camera!
