A cutting board is destined to join a family and become part of their stories, because the kitchen is the heart of the house, and the cutting boards are the hands of the kitchen. This is where the stories start.

I love a handmade item, whether it was an amateur labor of love by someone I know, a commercial product from a skilled artisan, or somewhere in between. 

I have a bias for wood because my Dad makes beautiful wooden cutting boards, so I decided to revisit the wood vs. plastic research.

41 years ago, my Dad made cutting boards for Christmas gifts in a lean year. This year, he outdid himself with a new one as a gift for me. Awesome.
