I was a terrible Flower Mama in 2019, undeserving of a home named Glover Gardens. With two foot surgeries six months apart, numerous domestic and international trips for work and a new little getaway called Gumbo Cove, I didn’t have time to properly care for my flower family and yard here at home.
But thankfully, they forgive me. The yard is surprisingly lush for January, especially after the year-long benign neglect. The plants just keep energetically embracing life and doing what they do, sprawling wildly, bursting with color, ignoring the season, crowding each other and competing for Most Beautiful. (It’s like Little League, though, they’re ALL winners.)
In the midst of all this unseasonable glory, I got a new camera lens for Christmas. It is for super-close photos. I have no idea how to use it yet, and have only had about 15 spare minutes to test it out. You can guess what I tested it on. Flowers, baby!
Oh my! Once I do get the hang of it, look out! The Flower Models of Glover Gardens will be ready to strut their stuff. They’re practicing right now, like me with the camera.
