This article in the Food Network’s online magazine caught my eye, and since I agree with 49 of the 50 recommendations, I’m sharing it as a public service.
Imagine how blissful it will feel to reach into decluttered cabinets!

It’s a good article; if you read it, let me know what you think.
Will I bite the bullet and do the recommended clean-out in my own kitchen? Maybe … I hope so. The Grill-Meister mutters comments about our orphaned plastic containers, which, like socks, never get lost as a pair. How does that happen? Although he certainly isn’t blameless here – when we married in 2008, I cleaned out the pantry and found a giant jar of ground cinnamon that expired in 1994. Yup. And I need to curb my condiment habit, because we just can’t consume them as quickly as I collect them.

The one recommendation I don’t agree with: getting rid of unused cookbooks. Just because I haven’t used one yet, doesn’t mean I never will!
I agree with you about the cookbooks! I keep all of mine.
What are your favorites?
My most current favorites are Rachel Khoo’s cookbooks. All of her recipes work and are full of good and healthy flavors. Check out her YouTube channel too. I love watching her cooking segments and I learn so much about technique and different ways but only to put your meal together but how to celebrate eating.
@Madelinescribes, thank you so much for the tip! I had not heard of Rachel Khoo and have just ordered one of her cookbooks, The Little Paris Kitchen, after checking her out.
Link doesn’t take me to the article. However, I woul probably agree – I know I should clear out. There may be some elderly stuff lurking at the back of cupboards though maybe not as old as 1994. Though given that was 11 years ago, today’s equivalent would be 2005. Hmm, you never know!
