Bloodsucking ticks have been with us for a long, long time…

News about the bloodthirsty tick – ick! I think a tick bite was behind my mysterious illness and hospital stay in 2016, so I feel some empathy for their other prey.

The tick was with a feather from a dinosaur that lived in the Cretaceous Period. Modern ticks love to bite mammals, and scientists have long wondered what the tiny vampires ate millions of years ago.
