Looking back as you make a big transition is a good thing.
I think it’s called reflecting. That’s what happened during the first five segments of the Glover Gardens Kitchen Remodel series. I focused a lot on the history of the pink-tiled galley kitchen.

But now, the demolition is over, things are starting to take shape, and it’s time to focus on what’s coming.
Carly Simon wrote a song about it.
Anticipation.
I had some fun after all of the pinkness and old cabinets were removed, and before the goodness that will be the Glover Gardens Kitchen 2.0 started to come in.
I need a little of Julia Child’s spirit in the kitchen, so I put one of my favorite Julia quotes on the old floor. The new floor is being laid on top of it, and I like to think of someone remodeling in 40 years finding it.

I tagged the sheetrock behind the sink with the idea that playing with food is fun:

And my heartfelt sentiments about what our kitchen means to will is captured behind where the stove and counters will be.

…this kitchen is the heart of our home… it’s where we put family history and love on a plate… and share stories and make new memories together…
