As we move into the final few days of our project and back into “normal life,” we know that we will never look back and regret the length of time it took to get from the start to the finish.
Sometimes I realize I’m distracted by the myriad of data and news and trivia (oh my!) that worm their way into my consciousness and need a break from all that external stimuli.

Homemade food, lovingly prepared, delivers far more than just taste and sustenance. It carries with it the intent of the cook, the connection between the cook and the eaters, the history of the recipes and legacy of how they’ve been enjoyed by others in the past, the impact it has in the moment it is enjoyed, and the promise of a story, like this one.
…this kitchen is the heart of our home… it’s where we put family history and love on a plate… and share stories and make new memories together…
A tiny bar below the stairs has been the source of fun but has also put the messy pantry on display.

I won’t miss the pink tile or the tight spaces, but I wouldn’t trade the memories we’ve made here in this galley kitchen for anything.

The kitchen at Glover Gardens is about to be dismantled and remade into something that fits our lives far better than its galley-shaped, 1990s-pink-countered, pickled wood-cabineted, white ceramic-tiled current self.
