We continue to prepare for “the siege” (our kitchen remodel) at Glover Gardens and I’m packing up the pantry today.
I’ve discovered that I may be a bit of a packrat. Especially when it comes to spices.

There were so many salt and pepper containers in the pantry that I had to take a photo. This doesn’t even include the various kinds of ground pepper, white pepper and red pepper in the spice cabinet.
Speaking of the spice cabinet, check it out. I found some cardamom from 2015, and curry that was even older. Whoops.

I have to use a folding stool to reach the spices on the top two shelves. I really can’t wait to get cookin’ in the new kitchen.
Once the siege is over and our pink kitchen has gone bye-bye.
That’s all for today, folks. I’m back to packing up the pantry and praying.
Praying that Hurricane Ida weakens, doesn’t hurt anyone and doesn’t hit Gumbo Cove or any of our friends’ places all along the Gulf Coast, and praying that all the people I know who have COVID recover fully and quickly.

A stool to reach spices? MM uses a stool to see into a tall stock pot. We are gonna get hit, not directly, but by a Cat 4 hurricane. Gumbo Cove likely won’t get hit because it is well out of the cone unless something radically shifts.
