The Twilight’s Last Gleaming and a Silly July 4 Poem

Kayaks ready for a big day

The twilight sky was gleaming last night here in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. A sailor’s delight.

Our July 4 holiday can be summed up with this poem. I was thinking of Jimmy Buffet when it jumped into my head.

Independence Day

midday cruise
barbecues
jazz and blues
optional shoes
fruity booze
moratorium on News

that’s the day we choose
The Grill-Meister and Musical Millennial on the inaugural cruise of our little pontoon

The first July 4 celebratory greeting I received today was before 7:00 a.m., from a colleague in the UK. How nice! I thanked him for being gracious about their loss. 😁
