Happy Cocktail at the Tree House at Glover Gardens is always a good idea, but one night last week, it was exactly what we needed. The Grill-Meister was out of town and my sister‑in‑love and I were about to cook up a storm, but first we paused for a little respite.
It was simple, but oh so perfect: a fresh fruit salad with just a drizzle of my current obsession—hot honey—paired with chilled sparkling rosé. Light, refreshing, and inspiring, it set the tone for a fun evening in the kitchen.

Even the torch got in on the act, flickering away to keep the mosquitoes at bay and adding a little extra glow to our summer scene. Sometimes, the simplest moments turn out to be the most magical.
Cheers and here’s to the simple moments.
And why not a haiku?
verdant summer scene
kindred spirits, libations,
snacks, conversation
