Holiday Peacefulness Haiku

Today’s post is a simple one…a quick reflection on a feeling created by an image, and a haiku.

I saw this beautiful picture on a Facebook post, and instantly imagined that I was in that chair, reading a first edition of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, sipping hot chocolate. I was still in the “finish up the year’s work” frenzy and wanted to dive into the photo to start my holiday time off.

My vacation has started now, and I am metaphorically in that photo, transforming from the frenzy of getting everything done to the fullness of seasonal reflections.

The Haiku

in Christmas stillness
the solitary reader
finds the season's peace

In the words of Dickens’ Tiny Tim, “God bless us, every one.”
